My first Thanksgiving in America, w00t.
This. Imagine producing visuals like that on a regular basis. Then imagine doing stuff like that every single day. Holy cow.
I kinda want to work in a place like that. An open office, a new project every day (or at least every week... every month? Every few months?), lots of energy, ideas...
How am I ever going to be able to go back to Singapore D:
Anyway. Because some people have complained of the lack of specificity in my entries:
I'm currently in my aunt's guest room in Roslyn, NY, lying on the bed typing and hurting my back doing so, wearing my RJ PE T-shirt and MG shorts. My psych readings lie strewn across the remainder of the queen-sized bed, dishevelled; my Japanese textbook is open at page 116 and 117, where there is a list of the roughly 60+ words I need to memorize before class on Tuesday.
It is, of course, Thanksgiving, and later tonight there will be much feasting of turkey and making of merry. But now the house is quiet; my aunt and uncle are deep in slumber, and my cousin sleeps alone as her lover lies on the other side of the house in her brother's room. (The two men were so excited at being roommates, lol.)
I should be asleep too, at this moment. It's 2.36AM, far too late for anyone (college student or otherwise) to be up and about. But I've already slept my share this afternoon on the bus, for the alternative was to consciously experience the agony of being sandwiched between an old dude who leans his seat back all the way and a guy who sings along to his iPod (badly, with punctuating hand gestures) while reading a book on quantum mechanics.
I knew I should have booked the 8AM bus.
Nevertheless, I am here, in one single slightly squished piece. I will partake in the feasting of turkey and the making of merry, and give my hosts a 100-bag box of Jasmine green tea in thanks. And the next morning I will leave again, this time for the rolling green hills of Ithaca. (Are they green? Do they roll? Are they even hills? I guess we'll find out on Friday.)
Peace out. A happy Thanksgiving to everyone.
